TEHRAN -- The U.S. daily **New York Times** yesterday reported that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) may have been involved in the murder of the U.S. daily **Wall Street Journal** reporter Daniel Pearl. The report said that Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has vowed to punish all those involved in Pearl's murder, adding that this could also affect Pakistan's ISI. The Pakistani military and intelligence officials have revealed that an intelligence officer of this country had a major role in organizing the terrorist group Lashkar-i-Mohammad after its formation in 2000. President Musharraf dismissed him last year. According to some reports, Sheikh Omar, the main suspect behind Pearl's murder, has had close links with this terrorist group.
